1.KEY RESPPONSIBILITIES
The Supplier Quality Engineer reports to Supplier Quality Engineering Supervisor of Modine China, and has the following primary responsibilities for Modine China region Supplier Quality Management process:
? Supplier Qualification process would be to certify qualified supplier as Modine approved supplier, maintain the approved supplier in SAP system. Make sure Modine shall buy the material or components from approved suppliers
? Supplier Development process requires SQE has to follow Modine APQP process to develop new product on supplier site, the key sub-process will include STFC (Supplier Technical Feasibility Commitment), PRR/PTR and PPAP approval
? Supplier Evaluation and Improvement process needs SQE to overall evaluate the supplier performance based on Modine standard metrics, communicate supplier performance with key suppliers, and drive the supplier’s continuous improvement
The incumbent will have the following specific responsibilities:
? Maintain the Approved Supplier List
? Lead STFC activities for new product development, the team will be Application Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Plant Quality Engineer, Project Manager, Buyer, Plant Material and supplier
? Track supplier PPAP process and update PPAP documents in APQP database
? Lead PRR/PTR audit on supplier site, Modine plant quality should be involved
? Work with plant quality to approve the supplying parts PPAP
? Work with Modine plants to evaluate supplier performance, to drive problem solving and continuous improvement
? Follow Modine Escalation process to manage the risk supplier
? Support Modine global business, for instance, new product development and problem solving for other regions
? Attend annual China Supplier Conference
? Attend or lead MOS project to improve Modine working process
2. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
General minimum experience of 5 years in Quality Engineering or Supplier Quality Engineering. Automotive Industry experience would be a plus. In addition to customer and project assignments requiring greater skills and experience, the incumbent provides leadership and guidance to less experienced employee. An in-depth understanding of TS/ISO 16949,VDA6.3, various automotive customers’ requirements and quality tools, e.g: APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Process Control Plan, MSA, SPC, 8D, etc.
3.EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
A Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical field is required.
4.TRAVEL
The incumbent need travel to Modine China suppliers for product development, supplier assessment and problem solving, need travel to Modine China plants to support Modine production process. Generally the travel will take >50% working time
